Microsoft Windows 10 Cancel Home Group: Another Windows 7 important feature disappears

On the Windows 7 system, Microsoft introduced a feature called HomeGroup that allows users to share pictures, music, videos, documents, and printers with other people in the homegroup’s network. After you create or join a homegroup, users can choose which libraries to share and prevent sharing of specific files or folders. However, with the advent of cloud storage solutions, more and more users no longer use solutions such as home groups to share content with others.

As a result of this change, Microsoft decided to cancel the homegroup feature, which will not run on Windows 10 in the latest version of Windows 10 Build 17063. However, the user profile / folder / printer share for sharing will continue to work.

Microsoft recommends using OneDrive cloud storage, OneDrive also truly cross-platform storage for file storage, the cloud-first concept, and most importantly, all the photos, videos, and other files in your device . OneDrive also supports features like video playback, file runs, and more, allowing you to access all your files in the cloud without having to download them and take up storage space on your device. Microsoft hopes everyone will use the OneDrive cloud storage service to replace the previous homegroup and will still have the ability to share folders and printers for users who do not like using cloud networking.

Microsoft also advises users to simply and quickly connect their devices by logging in to their Microsoft account in Windows 10.
